Each class will guide you through a movement sequence, helping you discover how to shed excess tension and move in a more fluid way. These classes are great for anyone experiencing pain, recovering from an injury or surgery, or anyone wanting to focus in and improve performance (athletes, musicians, etc). Fall Session I: Sept 25- Nov. 3 Series: Moving Out of Pain The Feldenkrais Method is widely known for its effectiveness in reducing or even eliminating pain and its ability to teach people how to manage chronic pain through better movement increased self-confidence and awareness. The 16 half-hour lessons in Moving Out of Pain were created for a Los Angeles group of chronic pain patients. They are suitable not only for those with recurrent pain but for anyone who desires gentle slow paced easy-to-do Feldenkrais lessons. Mark Reese created these lessons based on his 20 years of experience successfully working with people with chronic pain. The lessons are performed in comfortable positions and Mark's pacing easy to follow instructions help to create and deepen a receptive learning state. Moving Out of Pain reflects Mark's extensive knowledge about how to create the calm and curiosity needed for overcoming long-standing self-protective reactions while each lesson helps the nervous system to eliminate habitual patterns of muscular tension and discomfort.
