Service Description

When my children were in preschool, there was a category of learning called Practical Life. These activities—pouring, sweeping, dressing, preparing food—help children build independence, coordination, concentration, and confidence. They allow kids to use their hands and bodies to develop essential everyday skills. As I’ve been planning this next teaching series, I’ve realized that adults rarely get the opportunity to practice their own “practical life” skills. We simply repeat the same movements day after day without time, guidance, or space to improve them. Many everyday actions create strain or tension, become difficult over time, or eventually become things we avoid altogether. Practical Life Series 1 focuses on refining some of the most common movements we use throughout the day: comfortably raising the arms overhead, reaching toward the feet, working at the counter with ease, and improving the dexterity and coordination of the hands and fingers. These lessons will take place during the first four Tuesdays of December (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd): 9:30 AM MT— In Person 11:00 AM MT— Online 12:00 PM — In Person Lessons: Raising the Arms Reaching for the Foot Counter Work Fingers and Hands Note: Recordings of these lessons will be available exclusively in the Movement Academy Tier ($15 level) on Patreon and through the Better In Motion website. When you sign up for the series, you’ll be given access to recordings through the Better In Motion website.
