Length for Strength is a 8-week Feldenkrais series offering a more effective alternative to traditional stretching. While stretching is often the go-to for tightness, it typically works in isolation, pushing muscles and joints to end-range positions. This can increase strain and often provides only temporary relief. The Feldenkrais Method takes a different path: instead of trying to “fix” tight areas through force, this series explores how movement is actually organized—by the brain. The brain doesn’t “think” in terms of individual muscles or joints; every action is an integrated process. Improvement comes not from isolating, but from better integrating all the parts. In this series, we will take traditional stretching positions and situations and offer alternative processes. The classes will help to reduce chronic tension, improve usable range of motion, and restore balance across the body, creating length that actually transfers to comfort in daily life and in the gym.
