The Future of Better in Motion: MA 2026

Hello and Happy New Year!

As we come to the end of another year, I always find it meaningful to pause and reflect on what has unfolded—both personally and professionally. This past year brought some powerful highlights for Better in Motion, including:

  • Growing more small group strength training offerings

  • Hearing stories of pain relief and movement breakthroughs through Feldenkrais sessions

  • Safely guiding groups into lifting heavier, in line with health and longevity recommendations

  • Equipping all strength training members with proper tools (hello lifting gloves!)

  • Watching so many of you consistently prioritize your health and well-being

These moments matter deeply to me. And as always, they spark the same question: How can I use my skill set even more effectively to help people continue to improve and truly thrive?

After many conversations—with my Feldenkrais colleague (shout out to Samantha!), my teachers in the Feldenkrais world, business coaches, fellow moms and exercise enthusiasts—I’m ready to take the next step. That step is the evolution of Movement Academy.

Movement Academy has been around for some time, but in 2026 it’s being upgraded and refined to better serve people in the exercise and strength-training world. MA 2026 reflects my commitment to fully integrating my Feldenkrais expertise which I see as my unique skill set, into a program designed to help people train smarter.

Many trainers bring different modalities into their work, which shapes how they coach. What I bring is a specific form of Awareness Training through the Feldenkrais Method. This approach teaches people how to feel themselves moving, not just perform movements or follow cues. That awareness changes everything: how you train, how you trust your body, and how you show up mentally.

So what does this look like in 2026?

Until now, I’ve largely kept Feldenkrais classes and strength training classes separate. But what I see again and again is this:

  • People who strength train benefit enormously from awareness training.

  • People who practice Feldenkrais often benefit from thoughtful, supportive strength work.

MA 2026 is a soft launch of an integrated approach—one that helps people build foundational awareness and movement skills they can carry directly into their strengthening and daily lives. You’ll also see more awareness-based techniques woven into my strength training sessions.

Each month inside the Academy, lessons will be built across three core categories:

  • Prep to Lift: Short, specific activation and awareness sequences to prepare your body for workouts and daily activity

  • Skills Lab: Longer lessons that break down movements like squats, stairs, pressing, and shoulder lifts so they feel safe, efficient, and well-oiled

  • Active Recovery: Guided practices for rest days that support recovery and help you stay consistent for the long run

Over the course of the year, my goal is to guide you through a complete movement education—starting with foundations and gradually helping you build a routine that truly works for your body and life.

I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful to continue this work with such a thoughtful, committed community. MA 2026 is just the beginning.

Note: Movement Academy is hosted on Patreon, which is a platform that I can host audio, video and information in one place. You can join Movement Academy today or gift someone a membership for $15/month at: https://www.patreon.com/c/BetterInMotion
